Angle of Vision

Reading about the angle of vision was very interesting to me because it is something that i have known my whole life but never known the true definition, or name of. I know realize that this is a very important aspect of persuasive essays. It is also interesting to me how you can completely keep your angle of vision a secret from your audience. In fact, the goal of angle of vision seems to be to hide some truth that is different from your view from the audience. A writer can completely change a readers view by writing in a persuasive way through the angle of vision they choose. However, this also means from the readers perspective we have to be aware that a persuasive writer is writing through their angle of vision which means that there could be a lot of fact that we don't see. We have to keep an open mind and remember our beliefs and not be persuaded solely because the writer is just feeding us through their angle of vision.

Believing/Doubting Game

The death penalty should be put into affect in all states in America. If every state had the death penalty, i really feel that there would be less murders all around the country. The fact that the punishment for a murder is being murdered yourself would definitely be a reason for people not to committ murder. Also, by using capital punishment on an inmate, this solidifies the fact that this person will never committ another crime. The death penalty could also bring some closure for the family and friends of the victim. Overall, i think that instating the death penalty is the best way to deter criminals from killing, and keep people from murdering. It is also the best way to keep people from having murderous thoughts. If people learn that if you are accused of murder, you are going to lose your life, they will definetly be deterred from committing murders.

The death penalty is definetely not a good way to stop people from killing. Killing another human being is basically the same crime that they are being punished for. That puts us in the positon of being no better than criminals. Also, it goes against a human beings right to life. Who are we to determine when a person last moment is? We take away that person's right to life, and right to redemption. Also, the justice system makes mistakes all the time. It could be that nine times out of then we are executing the wrong person. As for the condemned family, aren't we just doing to them what he supposedly did to someone elses family. Why do they deserve to feel the same pain, they didn't do anything against the law. I think that it is inhuman and immoral to kill another person and take their life against their will for justice.

It was a little bit difficult writing about this topic because i had to take and defend a view that i did not agree with at all. However, it was interesting to think from the perspective of someone on the other side. It made me realize that there are two sides to every story and that i should take in interest in the opposite opinions also.

Popular Drink Contains Risk

The article i chose to analyze is called " Popular Drink Contains Risk." It's about this new alcoholic energy drink called 'Joose.' It has the highest alcohol content of all alcoholic energy drinks on the market. I thought it posed an interesting question because it shows that many people don't care or don't know about the dangerous risks of drinking these alcoholic energy drinks. Also, since alcohol is a depressant, the caffeine keeps them awake and with the taste, people drink more of it. It is a scary situation because the alcohol isn't as present in the taste, so kids can't realize how drunk they are getting before it's too late. According to the article, it can cause heart problems. The reason that this article was so interesting is because it relates currently to most kids in college now. A lot of people don't think about the risk that is associated with drinking, and now that a hybrid between an energy drink to keep you up all night, and alcohol to still get the 'drunk' feeling has been found, it is just going to get more and more popular. The article suggests that 'Joose' is just a trend but if it is here for good I definetely think that people should become more educated about the problems that drinking those drinks can cause.
